I didn't find the game that boring. Both teams gave a decent effort and it wasn't such a mess as some previous games have been. A whole bunch of top players were missing from the game, so really no wonder that the level of skill on display was a bit pedestrian.
We kept the SA down, which was nice and probably got us a point. Essentially we lost because the guys panicked in the OT. It's a confidence issue, and understandable with our recent record.
Too bad we couldn't score the game winner in the end of the 3rd, where we basicly dominated the game for a good stretch. Bobrovsky played a good game. Plus we're just short on skill. Anyway, we didn't lose because we played bad, we lost because the Jackets are better, and that I'm okay with.
Nice to see Colborne get a goal, would be great if he could get some confidence going.
But hey, points in two games in a row. Haven't seen that since the first five games of the season.
IIRC Hartley said at the beginning of the season that they've broken things down into five game segments.
Here's how that breaks down so far:
1st segment: 8 pts, goals 18-17. Great start.
2nd segment: 2 pts, 11-20. "Road trip from hell."
3rd segment: 4 pts 14-17 Slipping, but hanging in there.
4th segment: 1 pt, 11-21 Flat on their faces.
5th segment 2 games in: 3 pts, 6-6 Back up and moving again.
