Calgary Flames want young sniper Sven Baertschi to shoot more

That’s been a common theme in the Calgary Flames’ video sessions, with the coaching staff encouraging snakebitten left-winger Sven Baertschi to put more pucks on net.

“I had a few opportunities last game where I made the wrong decision. I had second thoughts,” Baertschi said after Saturday’s morning skate at the Saddledome.

“I had the 3-on-1, the 3-on-2 and the 2-on-1, and all three times, I passed. Afterwards, I regret that I was trying to make that pass because I know that I can shoot the puck, too. I’ve gotta get on that path.

“I’ve gotta make sure that when (the pass) is not there, it’s not there. Sometimes — most of the time, actually — the shot is the best play.”

Sure sounds to me like the Flames aren't too happy with the 1 goal in 18 games.
