I agree with your points above. Stempniak can score 20-25, he's good along the boards and he'll throw the occasional solid body check. However, his lack of aggressiveness really hampers him in being a better than average player. He gets bullied and there is very little push back from him.
Ditto for Galiardi. They're actually very similar players to me.
If he's on the bottom three with the occasional time on the third line, I have no problem with him. Othwerwise, next year I'd rather see what Ferland (or a player of his ilk) can do.
The Flames need players with a bit more "jam" to take them to the next level IMO.
