The Flames will likely treat him like they did Culkin this year and wait until next year's training camp to decide to sign him or send him back to the Q.
Based on what Feaster said going into camp this year, they were prepared to offer Culkin a contract and keep him in the AHL/NHL if his performance in the preseason warranted it.
The way Poirier has performed since he was drafted, it's hard to imagine a scenario where he doesn't turn pro next year.
