For this team to be successful right now, they should shelter sven and give him limited time or even trade him for a grizzled vet who might get you 55 points instead of 50 on the season.
How is that good for this team?
No team is going to overpay for Sven right now. He's worth a lot more to this team than what we'd get for him in a trade (unless a miracle trade comes along). He has a future and we dont' know what it is, so giving up on it now would be foolish.
Sven needs to be given time to grow and mature. Playing him with bad line mates or benching him will only turn him into the kind of player he's playing with or worse into the kind of player that doesn't play regularly. Sure, once in a while he should be benched to send a message but he should play more regularly and with good linemates. They should Keep the line of Sven-Monahan-Hudler together and make them our #1 line every game. Get them the confidence and the opprotunity to be good and if we lose games, who cares.
Sven needs to be treated like the player we want him to be. Same idea with Monahan. He's been given the chance and he took it. They play well together, we want to keep them together. We should play them together.
Trade some of the garbage on this team if you want to make trades.
