Street might not be a "prospect" but he's still an important cog in the organization. He played in the NHL this season so he's impacting the club. He's teaching the young guys how to be a pro. Ferland would probably still have no pro points if he didn't get the opportunity to play with a couple of older pros.
I mean, Hartley is giving the vets more ice than the rookies. That's the nature of the sport.
Ward has always seemed to me to be an extremely thoughtful and very good coach. All of the interviews with the opposing team's coaches, they always say "This is an extremely well coached club, they play their systems very well". If his peer group is praising him, that's good enough for me.
