It's been 20 years since going to the 93 Western Final when it was -25 or even colder with the wind chill.
I think just over 20K people showed up, the weather was that disastrous. Not sure why we were either, but free tickets. Sleeping backs, hotpockets and a few blankets each to keep us warm.
The infamous game where the heaters broke on the Stamps sideline sometime in the 2nd quarter and Flutie's hands froze.
This was a big deal, the Stamps defending GC champs, and were 15-3 and Calgary was hosting the GC a week later.
It clear why Getzlaf is coming back, to draw a few PI calls as he and the Riders always seem to get. Hopefully the refs stay out of the decision of the game (a rarity it seems, more and more), and as long as the Stamps play the same smart ball control game they have all year, moving the ball with Cornish and the numerous excellent receivers they have, and limit the turnovers, should be victory.
The weather shouldn't be that great as far as temp, but I think the field should be clear.
As T99, hoping the Ti-Cats can get out of the East. Tickets will be picked up for pennies on the dollar from the large section of Rider fans who are the loud obnoxious types.
