I agree that we need some vets on the team. Gio is going to be the leader, Wideman is a decent guy to have around, Hudler is someone I really want this team to keep for a long time, Smid is another guy that I think could be a mainstay on this team. In free agency, they can target some players like Derek Roy, Ott, or any other guys that are available that they want to keep around for a few years. I know the UFA list will probably be cut in half but there will be a lot of players looking for work and we can over pay to get anyone who's willing to come here.

Bottom line is that Stempniak is replaceable and we have a chance to cash in on him being here now.
