I think that's a bit of an exaggeration, his AAA numbers were always quite good for any position.
As a major league player though, the home runs are about the only thing he really offers right now. Even his RBI and batting average were not very good given the number of plate appearances he had. So any GM who's old school will see that and I don't think they exist anymore. Than you get into the slightly different metrics of on base, slugging, K rate and he's downright awful. Than there are probably some even more advanced metrics way beyond what I could ever give a flying fata about where I'm sure he looks even worse. Factored in with the fact that at the eye test level his defence as a catcher is bad.
No GM in Baseball is that stupid anymore to trade much for Arencibia. Especially since he is showing that he has a hard time dealing with failure and criticism. Unless he showed some potential as a guy who can hit lefties for a bit of power to use as a platoon/bench player no one is going to fall sucker for him.
