That braves situation really does show how ridiculous the stadium aspect part of professional sports is becoming. There's this growing trend of municipalities bending over backwards to try and attract these teams through dodgy financing and public funds. It either causes ridiculous stand offs with the native city (Edmonton situation) or stupid moves that make no sense for either side (Glendale). The 49ers are set to become the big four team that plays the furthest from their named city when they move to Santa Clara because they got a better deal on public funds than they could get from San Francisco. Anyways, not sure how the public funds situation is gonna turn out with our stadium but hopefully it's minimal and we can avoid the fight that Edmonton went through.
