Good idea. I also suggest a companion rescue course. And obviously don't go alone.
The fact that this part of skiing has been marketed as being trendy scares the crap out of me and I really wish it would stop. ####ing Marker and Salomon with their frame bindings, now everyone thinks they should get skinning. A large proportion of the people out there are hazards, not only to themselves but to everyone. It's one of the most selfish things you can do because the slide you cause making a bad decision is as likely to bury someone else as yourself.
