Not trying to be pessimistic and keep in mind, I'm a big Hanowski supporter (he was second to Horak for my Calgary prospect love):
I don't think Hanowski will be a full time player with the Flames and will end up getting traded in a package because the Flames feel they have too much depth. I want him to be called up, I want him to play full time, I want him to be a staple on the team but I think there is a real possibility that he will be traded away because of the up and comers we have on the wing. Hano is a LW and if you look at what we have coming up, in addition to what we currently have, I could see him getting pushed out much like how Horak did just because of redundancy and that he isn't one of "our" guys. Calgary didn't draft him, he was acquired by trade and I think the Flames are pushing hard to show they can draft and develop players. Guys not out of Calgary's draft system probably have a harder shake at making it up to the Flames. I think Hano's saving grace could be that he's a big boy, but so is Ferland and if the Flames decide they rather him, I imagine Hano is gone in favour of someone the Flames drafted/developed. Again, this whole depth thing is going to push out alot of players that 2 or 3 years ago, are 2nd line players for the Flames. It sucks because on one hand because we are going to lose more character guys that in the long run, maybe it was the wrong choice, but it's great because we actually are in the position to win some trades trading these guys.
Again, hope I'm wrong. I like Hanowski. I want him to be a Flame.
