There is an International Day of Peace on Sept. 21 and I'll be glad when this is promoted by our governments and media to the extent that war is promoted.

That's not how I see it at all. Granted I'm older, as I think you are too, but to remember the price that has been paid by the soldiers doesn't glorify war at all. If anything it's absolutely necessary to remember their sacrifices as I don't think there are many greater.
