Hey Snowdude, I am attending U of A as well right now and I found that article hilarious. Like I told my girlfriend last night, that conversation would never come up in Calgary because we already know which city is better, we do not need to debate it.
Exactly! If a Calgarian does consider the debate between the two cities it's usually in jest to Edmonton, kind of like jabbing your less intelligent, uglier, awkward brother in the chops for fun. Edmontonians love to debate it as part of their infeority complex.... Like I've said before, income levels are higher in Calgary, which drives a lot of this rivalry... I was in the area north of Grant Macewan in Edmonton looking for a wedding and have to say they did a remarkable job at making the place resemble Compton.

I will however, concede a few of the arguments given in the pro Edmonton article. Suburban sprawl is horrible in the city. I'm sorry, but if you decide to move to Spruce Meadows at the edge of the City, you should expect to have a longer wait and drive in traffic. Don't like that? Move closer to downtown. I find it ironic that my property taxes in the Beltline are higher to help support Bridlewood drivers while schools, pools, and parks are stripped from the urban centers.
