“We first had conversations, Craig MacTavish and I, probably about three weeks ago, in all honesty in terms about talking about what we were looking for and what they might be willing to do,” Feaster said Friday evening. “And then we got through the process about what are the pieces that would have to come back. We were interested in the player but it comes down to what you must give up. So, we went back and forth on that for a little while. I thought it might have actually happened a week or so ago but then it went off the rails a little bit from a timing perspective. Edmonton wasn’t ready to do it and what we said at that time was, we’ll stay in touch and if the circumstances are still such they wanted to do a deal and we were in a situation we still wanted.”
