Cornish was the lone multiple finalist and one of four Stampeders to receive West Division nominations. The others include defensive end Charleston Hughes (defensive player), centre Brett Jones (rookie) and kicker Rene Paredes (special-teams player).

we could win all 5 of those awards...only one I dont know about is rookie, Gable is pretty damned good but didnt play the whole year. Hard not to give Hughes the def award and Parades has got to be a shoe in. Jon should easily win both.

This is surprising though.

There were no unanimous selections. A record eight Canadians received nominations
I actually think Jones got a shot of the rookie award. Brett Jones position is one of the tough one to play for a veteran OLine let alone a rookie. It's unheard of how many rookies had any success playing that position and all 18 games? CJ Gable is one of the future star in the CFL and I definitely agree with you that he did not play the whole year. Not sure who is voting for this award. If the Eastern reporters does, then Jones might be screwed.

I think Cornish will win both awards. The only thing that scares me is that Ricky Ray is playing for Toronto.. I don't think Ricky Ray is more deserving. Toronto was fine when Ray was out.

If one of the Stamps will lose an award, it will probably be Hughes against the media darling Chip Cox. Otherwise, I see a Western Division sweep this season but i don't think the Eastern voters will allow that to happen.
