Yep and the show has set a standard that Rick is a guy that will do the right thing and not lie. Would be disappointing if they decide to change that just to make some silly side drama. Him telling the truth should create drama anyway as Tyrese and Darryl are tied to her for different reasons which should generate friction. There's no logical reason Rick would lie as long as he knows Carol is alive as he cannot know for sure that they won't cross paths again. If she died then yeah I guess he could lie as the chances of it blowing up in his face are very slim but she knows where the prison is and is close to that girl and it's not out of the realm of possibility she returns or leaves some indication that she's still alive somewhere. He would be foolish to say anything but the truth.
I realize it's a zombie show so some realism should be suspended but I hope the writers are decent enough to not manipulate characters and make them do stupid things just to introduce drama. That's just cheap and good writers can use creative ways of introducing drama without making the main characters look like idiots in the process which is something the writers of this show are guilty of a little too often IMO.
