Sorry to hear about your situation, that's awful.
Every company has different policies outside of things like Bereavement leave. In Alberta it is three days off unpaid. So you might need to use vacation pay or take an unpaid leave to make up the time.
Of course depending on the company and sympathy level they might have different programs under their retention strategy.
Talk to whoever does HR or if there's no HR your direct manager and see what you can work out.
