I don't buy that Rob Ford's first crack experience was with gang members. That is a little extreme to just be something he stumbled into.

I think your really right, well not on the reserves piledriver thing. But its not like Ford had bought it on the street and quietly went home and burned his fingers 10 times on a crack pipe trying to figure it out.
It sounds like he had a pretty established network of people that helped enable him, and he clearly went to a party populated by these people.
You don't have to be thin to be smoking crack more then once.
Beyond the common questions of how far this goes in terms of conspiracy type stuff. The murder of one of the figures and the jailing of others, are the more basic questions for me.
Was there any undue influence or decisions effected by this tape. Did any city money go to these people. How much did his brother a city counceller know?
The right thing for Ford to do would be to step down, go get help and hopefully not run again, I think the conservative mayors base is fairly safe. For the cops not only is this a criminal investigation, but they're going to have to go through all of Rob Ford's transactions as mayor, and probe his connections.
Ford can't be mayor while this is happening.
But he's stubborn and pigheaded and loves the limelight, I would expect that there will be serious challenges to get him out of office right up to the courts. Unless he's removed in handcuffs.
