Like I said, Ford was getting all apologize-y over cmoking crack, but if Ford's version of the story is true, does anyone really care? If it honestly was only once, who cares?

The much bigger issue is hanging out with those types of people, sneakily exchanging money, etc. That's not too mention Ford just casually talking about "drunken stupors" which are supposedly OK in his mind.

Does anyone really think that it's ok for the mayor to get really drunk (apparently often), hang out with drug dealers, and doing secret exchanges, etc?

It's not 99% certain there is more to the story, we can already see that there is much more to the story - it's 100% certain.
Well exactly, there's just so many levels to it. He's already been caught behaving strangely while inebriated, and now he's using it to explain away other even worse behavior. His drinking, and the fact that he's actually been quietly ushered away from city hall while overly drunk, really should be reason number one he should not be in office. If he was taking time off, and getting clean, then maybe yeah, he could come back. But at the very least he should not be in office right now even for this one thing, cause it's obviously affecting his life and work.

You don't even need to bring up the crack, or the even more serious concerns of how involved he is with these criminals AND how involved he is with their recent misfortunes, but that just gives one even more reasons.

As far as your question, 'does anyone really think it's acceptable for the mayor to... etc.' is obviously yes though unfortunately. Ford nation still loves him. :/ And I think it's US style partisan thinking that's at play here, nothing more. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. You read it all over the internet right now. "Yes he's a buffoon and he gets drunk, but he drives those inner city liberals crazy and I love him for it." (not an actual quote, but very close, and the sentiment is relayed correct)

These people are going to get what they deserve, and if (And I'd say the odds are close to 50/50 now) Ford ever gets hauled away in cuffs, I hope they finally release just how stupid they look, and that they have actually done harm to Toronto with their stubborness and ego.
