If he gets his shots, he's going to score a lot. He's been fighting it so far this year and his pace is still amazing. Once he hits stride, he's going to be a threat game in and game out.

In what world is that in line with reality? He's not a "goal scorer," he can put some pucks in the next every season but he's not some offensive power that can afford to lack intensity in the defensive and neutral zone. You're making ridiculous excuses for a player that has not ever had success when he was playing a fiery 3-zone game.
What's scoring a lot to you? 25 goals? 30? If he can hit either of those, great, but he's simply not worth keeping around if he doesn't bring any other intangibles. 25 goal scoters aren't some magical unicorn that we can't easily replace through trade, and if the ONLY thing he brings is 25 goals? No big efforts, no fire, no defensive prowess... then he deserves every ounce of criticism he gets on this board.
I mean really, "his pace is still amazing"... in what world man? I want to live in a place where the standard for amazing is most people's standard for average.
