I agree with everything you said except that he did change one facet of his game - his physicality. He used to hit much more and skate much more. He seems to not be moving as much out there, and seems to play a way less physical of a game than he used to. Offensively and play-wise - definitely agree. What people need to realize is that not many of your "goal scorers" play 3 zones. If you consistently waste 25 seconds of your 45 second shift to get back (where there is 4 of your guys back there that couldn't score 25 goals if they dreamt of it) there is nothing left.
If he gets his shots, he's going to score a lot. He's been fighting it so far this year and his pace is still amazing. Once he hits stride, he's going to be a threat game in and game out.
