I have the .30-06, but have none of the other gear for hunting. I'm sure google would tell me all the gear I need to have to go hunting, but for the newbie who is just going with a buddy for the 1st time, what do I need to not be useless out there?

My don't leave the house list is:
Tag and ID
Rifle
Spare Ammo in a belt pouch
Knife
Saw
Binoculars
When I'm out on my own, I carry a small pack with rope, spare clothes (fleece jacket, mitts, extra hat, socks, neck warmer), a granola bar, fire starting kit, and a small foam pad for sitting on.
I got a modest 5x5 whitetail on opening day with my Dad and Brother, so my season is done. The deer is already butchered and off to be turned into sausage, loin roasts and packages of ground - about a full cooler worth of meat.
