Butler actually plays steady often. The issue with him is that when he has a bad night, it is usually a VERY BAD night.
I actually think that his partnership with Brodie is really helping him. When playing with O'Brien he is forced to be the puckmover on the pairing and it leads to turnovers.
By playing with Brodie it allows Butler to just play, and Brodie takes care of more of the tough puck moving.
