He sits ninth on the team in PP/TOI amongst forwards, and is being primarily used in defensive zone situations at even strength. Opportunity is everything at the NHL level, and Backlund simply is not getting a fair shake on the offensive side of the rink.

And if his play was better, i bet he would be getting a better %. Posters will complain about almost everything. If Backlund gets more offensive zone starts then there is a good chance Monahan % would be lower and posters would be all over that.
