- What kind of apps run on it (I use shazam the most) but I also use Starbucks, Netflix, RBC, FB and twitter. I'm assuming Google offers these?
- what about MS Office, I'm assuming it can read word and excel docs, as well as Adobe?
- Can I run this phone on US, Chinese or Australian networks (broad question, but I ran into problems finding a sim with the iphone when it first came out)
The specs are all good (from what I understand) and it's unlocked which is good seeing as I travel internationally quite often. I'm keen to try something new.

-No you can't run iTunes, music is sold through Google's Play Store though you can sync your existing iTunes music via third party apps.
-All of the apps you mentioned are supported on Google's app store
-Nexus 5 is completely unlocked and will support almost every network except I think Verizon. You can pop in a sim card from practically every network though a couple of LTE networks are not supported but typically you wouldn't get LTE or data when you travel anyways.
Good luck. Nexus is a great phone you'll love it if you can nab one. They are in short supply right now but stock seems to be continually trickling in.
