It will be interesting to see what they do for sure. I'd say this is the last time Stewart and McKellan play significant roles in the series. Who knows for certain, but especially in McKellan's case you'd think he retires eventually. At 74 years in age, this has to be the last time he'll suit up. Stewart could return considering the role, but even he is 73. You'd have to figure they will be passing torches to Fassbender and McAvoy in this movie.

You would hope Jackman, Fassbender, and McAvoy will continue reprising their roles, the rest are not all that important imo. Another question is will they attempt to have two series running concurrently at once, and release a movie every year (or two years)?

Of course another issue is how can they expect to afford to keep the entire cast? Lawrence is probably expendable, but she could be a huge draw at the box office (for kids). But Fassbender will probably command a pretty high salary with his popularity skyrocketing. McAvoy probably isn't cheap either. Then of course Jackman reportedly is signed on for four more movies and getting paid $100 million total. So at least he's aboard, but he's definitely getting paid top dollar.

Hopefully Days of Future Past takes in a billion dollars at the box office, then the budget for future movies won't be a major issue.
