Every once in a while I get the itch to buy expensive electronics for no apparent reason.

I was going to upgrade my desktop to Haswell and all that, then I came to the realization that I don't do anything on my computer that my good Ol' Q6700 and GTX 650 can't handle, so that would be a waste of money.

But regardless of what I do, the one constant is staring at a monitor. Why not some eye candy?

I went to Bestbuy just to look around and was looking at a nice 27" IPS LED that looked pretty shnazzy. But right next to it was an ASUS 27" at 2560x1440, and it made the other one look like trash.

There seems to be a limited selection of High res monitors out there, probably because of demand.

So any suggestions?
