Let's be clear, on a numbers only basis Dion is going to get something close to 7M/7 Years. He's the Captain on a playoff team, plays over 20 mins a night, kills penalties and puts up decent points.
If the Leafs aren't willing to pay him that, you can bet the deadbeats up north would in a heartbeat.
And there really isn't anyone the Leafs could get to easily replace Dion, so I think they end up doing this deal very close to what he is asking.
Would I want him on my team for that $ amount and term.... no friggen way.
