Clubbing is still legal here. In a 2001 study it was deemed that 98% of seals killed were done humanly.
The problem is with the seals that aren't dead when they're hooked, its up to the hunter to make sure they're dead first.
I've always thought that the European ban was incredibly hypocritical with their love of veal and fois grais which are far crueler then the seal hunt.
