Is SO overblown IMO...young guys get sat ALL the time all around the NHL. He had been struggling in both the neutral and defensive zones leading up to his benching. Looks like he responded in a big way because of it, and props to the coaching staff in recognizing what it takes to motivate the young man. No one should be surprised when Monahan gets a turn on the pine at some point ither, as its almost inevitable to happen.
Good stuff though and thoroughly an enjoyable read.
