Hartley says Joe Colborne is getting rewards for Hard work. He was behind when arriving in YYC..now he's paid off for work. #Flames

It's about commitment? Can't say that I agree with Hartley on that one.

Also, he rewards Colborne for his hard work, but then says that to Baertschi. Colborne has definitely worked hard and improved. But I've seen even more of that from Baertschi.

Clearly Hartley and I do not see the same things when we watch him play.

I think Hartley isn't a fan and I don't agree with him.
I can say from my perch as a fan as well, I don't see what Hartley is missing from Sven either. But, I don't think Hartley is "not a fan". In various games this year I've seen him up Sven's ice time in compared to others when it looks as though Sven's been clicking.

I think it's a little early to be worried about Hartley not liking Sven or something. Another poster made the point that maybe the bar is set higher for Sven. Maybe Sven had a little too much of the country club atmospher rub off on him when he played last year and the year before and they really feel they need to go beyond with him to prove a point.

Again, I think Sven's been good, so I'm freely admiting I don't know or see myself what has prompted this decision, but I'm also willing to give the coaches the benefit of the doubt right now. They seem to be gettng the most out of our young guys, including Sven, so I'm guessing there is something very specific they want from Sven and aren't getting (whether that be in the games, off the ice or at practice) and this is the route they feel will get them there. Sucks cause I want to watch him play, but I can live with for now.
