Strongly disagree with Baertchi's benching as I think he's taken big strides this year in his complete game but that's why I'm not paid the big bucks to make these decisions.
What I have a hard time letting slide is not the fact that Sven is sitting, it's the fact that he is sitting "due to lack of effort" while guys like Glencross, Jackman and Butler that have been inconsistent (or consistently bad if you want to get technical) continue to be given ice. Seems like a silly message to me, allowing the vets to get away with half-a**ed efforts while the young kid gets singled out.
