What a great thread! I am debating between the two formats right now after the free CI on telus in Oct. Here's my situation....
I love the HD and better picture quality aspect of CI but travel a fair amount for work so I would miss some games at home (probably travel about a total of 3 weeks during the season). I love the portability of GCL as I can watch it on my laptop in the hotel room. We have an Xbox 360 at home so I could get the app for that at home.
I rarely get to watch live hockey these days. I watch most games a bit later due to helping cook supper and putting the kids to bed etc. I don't mind as I like to ff through the commercials anyway. I will usually PVR a couple games and if the game I watch isn't that exciting, I can change. I am moreso a fan of hockey than one particular team (although the Hawks and Flames are my favorites to watch).
So if I understand this correctly, on GCL, if the game is still on, I can rewind it to the start but run the risk of spoiling the game and seeing the score. If the game is completed, I cannot watch it until the next day.
Is that correct? Any chance that someone with GCL could double check what Rubicant said above and see if once a game is over, it cannot be viewed until the next day (or later than around 11pm that night)?
Any other experienced opinions and first-hand details to help me make my choice would be appreciated.
