I know we've been getting points this season, but pretty much every decision right now should be towards the betterment of the young guys, and not to the Standings. The WJC's will be another great learning experience for Monahan... they definitely shouldn't prevent him from getting it just because they might get an extra point or two out of it. He'll have the rest of the year to get the NHL experience.

I agree with your sentiment, not sure I agree going to the WJC's is key to his development. I won't pretend to know what's better, but going to the WJC is taking a step down in competition level from the day to day in the NHL. I don't think you can blanketly say going is going to be what's best for Monahan, it's likely a case by case basis, and very much dependent on what each player needs.
