Actually if you look at the replay he was in good position for the shot from the point. There is an excellent screen in front and he loses sight of the puck when it gets passed back to the Coyote forward. He's not in a good position for the sharp angle shot. Not his fault that he can't see through the screen (Maybe Wideman should be moving this guy out?). The guy who is really out of position is Butler - He should be cutting off the pass back to the forward.
Third goal: McD is square up on the shooter - just were he should be. Ribero is completely unchecked - The winger on that side (looks like Glencross) should be down low checking Ribero.

Looking at the replays- I would say your assertion is wrong. On the goals that were scored against Mcd none were because of horrible goaltending - his team mates let him down. Agreed what other are saying about McD's rebound control (it's not great).
