Most of the guys out there have been busting their back sides and working hard for every inch, some haven't. If we can tell by watching the games, you have to think that the people that much closer to it see it too

No, the players' perspective is very different - not only does the game look different from the bench, but plays that fans interpret as lazy, aren't necessarily. The players know and understand what the coach has asked them to do - the fans can only guess.
Also, the players see each other every day in practice, in the room, in the gym etc.
It's completely different.
