I haven't looked, but I would bet that there are less than 50 guys who have scored more goals than Glencross in the last 3 years - probably way less (I would guess 30 - 35).
He would get at least $4m per as a free agent today.
Think of some of the guys that have recently gotten $5m

Just for argument's sake:
http://hkref.com/tiny/kVfWB Since 2010-11.
- 43 players have scored more goals than Glencross since his breakout season. Some good names both ahead and behind him on that list.
- Only 33 players have scored more goals per game in that time-frame.
- Based on points, 81 players have scored more.
- His 18.6% shooting percentage is the best in the NHL in that time-span for a player with 50 or more goals.
I think expectations have been pretty high since scoring 26 goals in 67 games in 2011-12. First year of a great contract and he put up fantastic numbers - it's hard not to have high expectations.
Anyway, I'm in the "it's early, let's give this team some time before we start calling players out" camp. Though, I know that's not how we do things around here.
