8 game playoff means fewer regular season games, and considering most schools go out of their way to schedule patsies so they can get 8 home games a year, I don't see schools giving up that revenue. I also think 4 teams provides a greater incentive to schedule more difficult out of conference schedules. At 8 you'll still be getting teams who pilled on FCS schools or low level FBS schools. I think 4 pretty much eliminates that.

Ohio State doesn't even deserve to be considered this year. I feel sorry for them that they play in such a crappy conference, but it is a very crappy conference. 1 loss Stanford, Alabama, Missouri, FSU and Oregon teams would all deserve to be there ahead of undefeated Ohio State. Not all undefeated teams are the same. Thats what worries me about the playoff committee: Would they really stiff Ohio State, big time cash making university that it is, ahead of Missouri even if Missouri played a much more difficult schedule? I really doubt it.
