but there is more to a city than just the climate, Montreal is a pretty big dump but they hide behind the historical significance of the city, same with Detroit. Take away their success and give Detroit 5 Oiler like seasons, we'll see how well they attract Free Agents.

Winnipeg is a very underrated place to live, as it's a great place to raise a family, or meet people. I don't care much for Winnipeg winters, but nothing beats summer in Manitoba. Lakes and beaches in every direction. Most people own a cottage for the summer, relatively affordable. Between May and September, there are tons of things to do in terms of festivals, parks, beaches, campgrounds, etc.
If one can tolerate the Winnipeg winter, it's not such a bad place at all.
