I don't understand the criticism of Kent's article, considering that it was written at a time when most of us here thought Feaster was crazy and stupid for thinking that the team was playoff bound. Do people not understand that news articles are suppose to reflect the times? It's not like Kent was making predictions.

There was little wrong with the article at the time. Erixon was widely considered the team's top prospect and it is thought that Erixon's stock had rose since he was drafted. Was Erixon NHL ready? Not quite, but he was seemingly close. Did he have top 4 potential? Yes he did. Were 2nd round picks guaranteed to produce top 4 defensemen or top 6 forwards? Nope. Is trading a former first rounder with top 4 potential for an average prospect and two 2nd round picks generally a good idea? Nope. Were the Flames seemingly reluctant to integrate youth into the lineup? It's a reasonable argument. Did the Flames have a bad reputation for giving youth a chance at the time? I suppose.

Seriously... are some of us really denying the fact that the team was considered somewhat a joke because of the team's refusal to rebuild? After the Erixon trade, it took Feaster almost two years to admit defeat and finally try to rebuild this team. Things are finally looking up now, let's not forget that it wasn't too long ago when most of us thought that things were pretty bleak with the team refusing to realize that the team wasn't a playoff team.
