Lombardi was an average scorer until his 19 year old season though. In Lombardi's first 3 seasons combined he only had 52 goals and 75 assists. He literally more than doubled his career QMJHL production in his final season. A final season that also saw Lombardi playing with 4 other 90+ point players.
While Poirer who is a mere 10 games into his 3rd QMJHL season has already surpassed Lombardi's goal totals and matched his point production in Lombardi's first 3 years. All that without any high producing offensive talent to play with.
When this year is all said and done, Poirier will have skunked the totals from Lombardi's first 3 years in the Q and do it while playing on a less offensive team.
