By my tally, the stamps are averaging 28,712 people per game during the regular season this year. They have had a few games in the 26,000 range, which to me, seems quite poor, especially for a team that is the best in the league and pretty exciting to watch. So what's the reason for this?
I had season tickets from 2005 to 2011, but since then, there has been a drastic reduction in fan attendance, and I suppose i'm part of that problem since I only get out to a few games per year now.
So what drives this? The building is too old? People don't care about CFL football like they used to? Or TV like mentioned below:
Quote:
The team is focusing on providing incentives for fans to come out to the games, ranging from working harder to engage fans to providing rewards to them to get out to the stadium.
However, Norrie says the team knows who — or what — it's up against.
"Our biggest enemy is that television and that big, comfy couch," he said.
