With any draft you have to take the best player available. At the time Yakupov was the consensus number 1. The problem was he's a redundant player on the Oilers. If they had any sense they should have traded away that pick for someone to address their real needs. Now they're stuck with a few good young forwards and no prospects who can play great defense or stop a puck.
Too many hot dogs, not enough buns.
