Being new to Android I don't know much but I have heard that stock Android is what you want to be running. I thought all Google Nexus devices run stock Android on them...but my coworkers are saying that it is not stock Android on this device and that I have to root it and put a different rom on it etc etc.
I don't care about custom roms...I just want stock Android..is that what I have?

Yours is identical to mine, and unless someone went out of their way to put something else on it (doesn't sound like it), it is in fact running stock Android. It is also unlocked by default and can be used on any network.
