Simple because he just showed how at the end of the day how little the World Juniors matter. I'm sure it's a great memory for those players that played in it but it doesn't seem to have any real long lasting benefit for those that played in it vs those that don't. It sucks for guys that want to play but they'll get over it, TJ Brodie got over it and it didn't seem to help Nemisz make the next step.
I'm all for debate if there is a development skew to this but it all seems to come down to emotional pleas to let the kid play. I don't buy that. If it's all about creating cherished memories then the Flames should be releasing Sean to go back to Ontario for Christmas dinner instead of flying to Sweden.
