"Hi, my name is Curtis. I bounced around the league in bottom 6 roles because of the inconsistency and pouty play I have recently became known for. After bouncing between the bottom teams in the league in a periphery role, I got picked up by the Calgary Flames. When they picked me up, they were a cup contending team and I got to play in all sorts of roles with highly skilled players. I'm a 20-30 goal scorer in the right situations and signed a long term contract with a no-movement clause because staying in Alberta is more important to me than the possibility of money or fame somewhere else. In exchange for the safety and consistency of ultimate control over where I play, I left some dollars on the table from cities I had no interest in playing in. I lock horns with coaches, take large stretches of games off and generally possess little situational awareness with the puck. I get my cookies, collect my paycheques and sometimes get real-fired up. In the summer, I go back to my true passion, ranchin' 'n ridin'. So far this year and last, I've been pretty much phoning it in and stick out like a sore thumb when surrounded by players giving consistent hard efforts and playing a team oriented style."
He's not a huge problem, but, his issues as a hockey player have been on display for Flames fans for some time now. Only, he's flown under the radar somewhat because of more colourful headcases ahead of him, (Bourque, Tanguay, Iginla). Now that they are gone, his 'brand' of hockey is apparent.
