Taking a home town discount doesn't excuse all faults. That was a business move, and he got a no-trade in return.
Glencross is a good player and he does score his goals. My contention was that he's no leader, and he's no "heart and soul guy", because his hear and his soul (and sometimes his brain) is missing half the games out there. Stephane Yelle was heart and soul. Andrew Ference was heart and soul. Regehr was heart and soul. Glencross cross is a nice accompanying piece...but anyone who relies on him to lead your team in the passion department will be disappointed.
He's a solid piece, but if we'd were able to get a solid young defenseman or a first round pick for him, and he'd agree, I'd be the first to accompany him and his horse to the airport.
