No question, it was a take down and it looks like a bad trend. The Colten Orr take down was also a bad one and may have been unintentional. That being said allowing fighting is one thing but take downs and wrestling are a whole new direction.
I think it needs to be looked at, most fans like a good hockey fight but i am not a fan of MMA. I remember Alain Vignault saying that Zach Kassian had taken MMA training so it may very well be that NHL fighters are now moving in that direction.
