That's not what we are saying, fight and be done, using a throw down like that is not needed and puts a player in a very risky position which can easily end up being a long term concussion problem. We have witnessed too many concussions in pro sports and are seeing the long term effects in memory, instability, depression, none stop headaches and suicides.
I know what it is like to deal with these long term concussion symptoms, I have had 3 major concussions(two sports related, one work) and about a dozen minor concussions, I cannot take a bump without feeling dizzy. Constant headache(every day of my life), the depression that goes along with this is real as you cannot put your thoughts together, you forget long time friends names and you pull back from society. I have been able to deal with it as best I can but some people cannot or do not seek professional help. This is a big problem in sports unfortunately.
That being said, yes I think the leagues should be doing as much as they can to stop concussions from happening. That includes tighter chin strap regulations so helmets do not come off as easily. I still think there is a place for fighting but this fight was unwarranted and a kids almost cracked his head open on the ice. Had his head been back he would have missed the rest of the year as there was that much force behind the takedown.
